About Programme:

The DYPU, School of Management offers the undergraduate 3 years full time program called “Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A.)". The program offers you the opportunity to explore and experience the Six semester Curriculum with Choice Based Credit System.

Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) is an undergraduate degree course in computer applications. With the rapid growth of IT industry in India, the demand of computer professional is increasing day by day. This increasing growth of IT industry has created a lot of opportunities for the computer graduates.

Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) is one of the popular courses among the students who want to make their career in the IT (Information Technology) field. The duration of the course is 3 years and divided into 6 semesters. It comprises of the subjects like database, networking, data structure, core programming languages like ‘C’ and ‘java’. This course provides a lot of opportunities to the students who are interested in computer field and wants to work in the IT sector as programmer or software developer. Programme Objective:

The B.C.A. program aims to:

1. Produce trained professionals in software industry for Global competency.

2. Develop skilled work force in the various areas of information technology like Data base management, Software Development, Computer-Languages, Software engineering, Web based applications etc.

3. Acquire the knowledge, skills, experience and values to become lifelong learners able to obtain employment in a computer-related field or pursue higher studies.

4. Create an objective platform for women who would like to work independently as software developers or system analysts for any modern developing systems.

• The certification programmes shall be organized at various schools/ departments as per the branches or programmes, required for Technical and Professional Managerial skills with leading and reputed Industry, Professionals and Certifying organizations.
• Students can also pursue courses on online platforms such as a Massive Open Online Courses MOOCs*, Coursera*, National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL*) etc.

Career:

Career opportunities available for people doing BCA are growing in areas like Software Programmer, System and Network Administrator, Web Designer, Web Developer, Database Administrator, Faculty for Computer, Science/Communication Technology, etc.

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible for admission to Bachelor of Computer Applications a candidate must have passed -

1.HSC (10+2) from any stream with English as passing Subject with minimum 40% marks in aggregate.

or

2.Two years Diploma in Pharmacy Course of Board of Technical Education, conducted by Government of Maharashtra or its equivalent.

or

3.Three Year Diploma Course (after S.S.C. i.e., 10th Standard), of Board of Technical Education Conducted by Government of Maharashtra or its equivalent.

or

4.Minimum Competency and Vocational Course (MCVC)
